The Only Smartphone App I’ve Ever Paid For – BuildCalc

Like many of you in the construction industry, here at SIPschool we depend on calculators to perform the trigonometry functions needed to complete estimates, cut angles, calculate roof pitches, rise:run, slope, etc., etc, etc.  The calculator I’ve turned to for years has been the Construction Master.  This little trigonometric miracle is never far from my reach whenever estimating, designing, fabricating or SIP installation is scheduled for my day.  I consider this tool so important to a SIP professional that we include its use during our SIPs 301 Certified Installer class.

So imagine my excitement when I met Ben Askren of BuildCalc. While wandering the trade show floor at last year’s Timber Framers Guild annual meeting I met this smartphone app designing genius. Ben described his smartphone version of the construction calculator as “the easiest and most advanced construction calculator app” and I agree.Easiest and Most Advanced

Ben’s app is downloadable to your smartphone for under $20.00. It’s super functional and has built in instructions for every feature. An article in ConstructionBytes.com calls it “An invaluable time-saving tool for builders, architects, and surveyors. BuildCalc also benefits from extensive supporting information through its web-site and downloadable user manual.

If your phone is always on your hip like mine is, it’s awfully convenient to have it double as a construction calculator.  Interested in learning more?  Join BuilderLink’s free webinar t0morrow, July 12, at 11:00am  for an Introduction to the BuildCalc App.
